I think so, basicly its an American term. All it is is a digital set top box with an itnernal hardrive and an advanced buffer feature. It records shows as you watch them and stoes them in its hour long buffer. For example if your watching a show you can rewind that chanel upto an hour, provided your box was on that channel for the past hour. You can also record mutliple streams at once, and timeshift, which allows you to pause the tv while you go to get a drink or toilet etc, then resume from where you left off. You would then be abuot 3 minutes or so behind live broadcast, which you make up by fast forwarding through adds.

You can also transfer all shows to a pc with ease via USB cable.
